Maria Latsinou – Mia Anasa Dromos

Christos Alexopoulos and Maria Latsinou’s long-standing desire to collaborate matured and they decided to make an album in “the way that albums used to be made”.
So, first the band was formed, consisting of Maria Latsinou (vocals), Christos Alexopoulos (piano), Antonis Stavrou (accordion), Giorgos Liapis (bass) and Phoevos Valavanis (drums). Afterwards, many songs were tested in concerts and festivals in Athens. And after a successful cycle of performances was completed, the final selection for recording those songs that worked best both for this particular ensemble and for the audience followed. And so the band entered Artracks studio where they recorded the entire album live in two days, except for the voices that were added later. In this second phase of the recording process the band was joined by George Androulakis (Cretan lyre with sympathetic strings) who is now a permanent member of this creative team and will participate in future concerts.
“Mia Anasa Dromos” brings a new ethos and proposes a new sound in contemporary songwriting and vocal delivery, with lyrics and music that converse with today. The group comes to intervene dynamically in the music scene with many live performances scheduled in the near future.
A fresh concept in terms of the creative combination of various (and ultimately not at all disparate) musical genres. A songbook destined to be sung.
