Socos/ Tziaros/ Christianopoulos – The first from the second and the second from the third

Socos returns to setting poetry into music, four years after “Η Ύδρα των Πουλιών” (poetry Nikos Engonopoulos- voice Dimitris Poulikakos). The album contains acoustic songs with lyrics from poems by Dinos Christianopoulos.
The orchestration is spare (Socos on the guitar and backing vocals and Marinos Tziaros – from Socos and the Live Project Band – on the vocals) and the delivered atmosphere is deliberately simple. There is no need for anything else to create a timeless surrounding which can be sometimes ambient or explosive, but mostly serves the lyrics, leaving the necessary space for them to emerge and be heard.
It should not come as a surprise that this compilation of poetry set to music adds a completely new “color” to Socos’ recordings, since (in his recorded work) transformation is his trademark.
Marinos Tziaros, a member of Socos & The Live Project Band, performs the vocals in his first recording aside his band. He certainly wins the bet.
