Jane Doe – The Enormous Head Of King Splendid
Jane Doe were up until now a well kept secret of the Greek music scene. It is time they came to light… The Enormous Head of King Splendid is released many years after their debut Heaven for Dogs [Run Devil Run, 2007] which –unfairly- passed relatively unnoticed at the time of its release.
Since then the band has evolved a great deal. The piano, the cello the violin, the trumpet and the percussions elevate the already well-crafted songs and add an extra texture to the guitar based orchestrations. We’re coming with the wind / And we’ll leave with the waves’* [* from ‘All the Poets Are Dead’] The lyrics in the songs of The Enormous Head of King Splendid are based on 13 literary books and 2 comics. A rather unique element for an album.
It includes “All the poets are dead”, “Manifesto of an ordinary man” and “Made of glass”. Don’t miss their explosive live performances.
